2.1 Data from Shopify
When you install Clarifi, we access the following data through Shopify's API with your authorization:
- Order data: Order details, line items, discounts, taxes, shipping costs, and fulfillment status
- Product data: Product names, variants, prices, and cost of goods (COGS)
- Store data: Store name, currency, timezone, and Shopify plan information
- Financial data: Transaction fees, payment gateway fees, and shipping costs

We collect information you provide when setting up your account, including:
- Email address (from your Shopify account)
- Store name and URL
- Notification preferences

We automatically collect certain information about how you use Clarifi, including:
- Features accessed and actions taken

We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- Core Service: Calculate profit, generate reports, and provide AI insights
- Accounting Sync: Sync financial data with QuickBooks or Xero (only when you enable this feature)
- Notifications: Send weekly email digests and profit alerts
- Improvement: Analyze usage patterns to improve our application
- Support: Respond to your support requests
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information with:
- Accounting providers: QuickBooks/Xero — only when you explicitly enable sync
- AI providers: Anonymized and aggregated data for generating profit insights
- Infrastructure providers: Hosting and database services necessary to operate Clarifi
- Legal requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or legal process

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

- Shopify OAuth tokens are stored securely and never exposed

We retain your data for as long as your Clarifi account is active:
- Free plan: 30 days of historical data
- Pro plan: Unlimited historical data
- After uninstall: Data is deleted within 30 days of app uninstallation

You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your data at any time
- Correction: Update inaccurate information
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data by uninstalling the app or contacting us
- Portability: Export your profit data via CSV or PDF
- Opt-out: Disable email notifications at any time
8. Cookies
Clarifi operates within the Shopify Admin and does not use cookies on external websites. Shopify's own cookie policy applies when you use the Shopify Admin interface.
