Common questions

What do I need to run ClariFi?

An iPhone running iOS 17 or later. ClariFi is currently in early access via TestFlight — request an invite here.

How do bank connections work?

Bank and brokerage accounts connect through Plaid. You sign in with your bank directly through Plaid's secure flow — ClariFi never sees your bank credentials. After linking, balances, transactions, and investment holdings sync automatically. Availability depends on Plaid's coverage of your institution.

A bank connection stopped updating. What do I do?

Banks periodically require re-authentication. Open the affected account in the app — if the connection needs attention, you'll see a prompt to reconnect, which repeats the short Plaid sign-in. Your history is preserved and duplicates are reconciled automatically. If it still won't update, email me.

Do I need an account?

No. "Continue without account" keeps everything on your device. Signing in with Apple or Google adds cloud backup and sync across devices, and enables sharing with a partner.

How does sharing with a partner work?

In Settings, choose "Share with your partner" and send the invite link. When your partner accepts, you share one combined financial picture. Either person can leave at any time.

How do I delete my data?

Delete your account in Settings — that removes your account and synced data from our servers. Deleting the app removes all local data. Details are in the privacy policy, and you can always email me to have data removed manually.

Is my financial data private?

Yes — local-first by default, no ads, no trackers, never sold. The full, plain-English details are in the privacy policy.

Is feature X coming?

Probably answered on the roadmap — what's being built now, what's next (US bank support, cash-flow forecasts), and what's on the horizon (web, Android). If it's not there, email me and it might be.
